QUETTA: More than 70 Pakistani nationals, including students, have returned home through the Taftan border as tensions escalate in Iran, officials confirmed on Monday.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Chaghi district, over 25 male and female students have reached Taftan so far. Authorities have completed arrangements at Pakistan House to facilitate students arriving from Iran and ensure their temporary accommodation.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, said that the formal process of repatriating Pakistani citizens residing in Iran has begun in light of the ongoing situation there.
He added that immigration officials are performing round-the-clock duties at border crossings to ensure the smooth and organized movement of returning citizens.
The provincial government has directed the administrations of border districts to provide all possible facilities and necessary assistance to those arriving from Iran.
Officials confirmed that the return process is ongoing, with more Pakistani nationals expected to cross into the country in the coming days as authorities continue to monitor developments in Iran.
