Pakistan, along with 14 Islamic and Arab countries, has strongly condemned a recent statement made by the United States Ambassador to Israel, calling it a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

A joint communiqué was issued and signed by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and the State of Palestine.

The statement was also endorsed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Arab League, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The controversy arose after the US ambassador reportedly stated that Israeli control over territories associated with Arab states, including the occupied West Bank, could be considered acceptable. The Islamic countries described the remarks as dangerous and provocative.

The foreign ministers categorically rejected the position, stating that such comments constitute an open violation of fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter, and pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

The communiqué further noted that the ambassador’s remarks contradict US President Donald Trump’s stated vision and comprehensive plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict, reducing tensions, and paving the way for a political solution that would enable the Palestinian people to establish an independent state.

The ministers emphasized that Trump’s plan is based on promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence, whereas justifying control over others’ territories encourages provocation rather than peace.

The joint statement reaffirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other occupied Arab lands. The ministers strongly rejected any attempt to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, and reiterated their firm opposition to the expansion of settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement warned that Israel’s expansionist policies and continued illegal actions would further fuel violence and conflict in the region, undermining prospects for peace. It called for an immediate halt to such provocative statements.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and stressed the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with the end of occupation of all Arab territories.
