Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE Set for T20I Tri-Series in Sharjah

Sharjah: A thrilling T20I tri-nation series will be held between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7, 2025.

 

The series is set to help teams prepare for the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.

 

As announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the tournament will kick off on August 29 with a match between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

 

The match will begin at 7:00 PM PST. Each team will play two matches against the other sides in the group stage, guaranteeing at least four games for each team.

 

The top two teams will advance to the final, which will be played on September 7.

August 29 – Afghanistan vs Pakistan
August 30 – UAE vs Pakistan
September 1 – UAE vs Afghanistan
September 2 – Pakistan vs Afghanistan
September 4 – Pakistan vs UAE
September 5 – Afghanistan vs UAE

Asia Cup Preparations

 

This tri-series is seen as a key warm-up event before the Asia Cup, which will begin on September 9 with a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

 

The 2025 Asia Cup will follow the T20 format, serving as an essential preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

 

Pakistan’s Asia Cup journey will start on September 12 when they face Oman, with their final group-stage match scheduled for September 17 against the UAE.
