Pakistan All Out for 378 on Day 2 Of Lahore Test
LAHORE: At the close of the second day of the Lahore Test, South Africa had reached 216 runs for the loss of six wickets against Pakistan.
The match, being played at the Gaddafi Stadium, saw the visiting side needing another 162 runs to surpass Pakistan’s first innings total. At stumps, Dean Elgar remained unbeaten on 81, while Senuran Muthusamy was not out on 6.
For Pakistan, Nauman Ali took four wickets, while Salman Agha and Sajid Khan claimed one wicket each.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan resumed their innings with Mohammad Rizwan scoring 62 and Salman Ali Agha contributing 52, helping the team build a competitive total of 378 in their first innings, which spanned 110.4 overs.
Rizwan was dismissed for 75 at a team total of 362, and in the same over, Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan returned to the pavilion without scoring. All three were dismissed by Senuran Muthusamy.
The innings also featured notable contributions from Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha, both scoring 93, while Shan Masood scored 76. Other batsmen included Babar Azam (23), Abdullah (2), Saud Shakeel (0), Shaheen Afridi (7), and Hasan Ali (0).
South Africa’s first innings bowling was spearheaded by Muthusamy with six wickets, while Perrin Len claimed two wickets, and Kagiso Rabada and Simon Harmer picked up one wicket each.
Pakistan Cricket Board’s free-ticket policy has enhanced the atmosphere at Gaddafi Stadium, drawing larger crowds to witness this high-stakes Test.
