Pakistan-Azerbaijan Trade Volume Needs Expansion, Says Envoy

ISLAMABAD: The Turkey-Azerbaijan program, organized by the Institute for Regional Studies, was inaugurated in Islamabad with a seminar highlighting trilateral relations between Turkey, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the opening, Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Nazir Oulu emphasized that there is no conflict of interest among the three countries and that trilateral cooperation is growing, supporting regional stability, economic collaboration, and connectivity.

He described the ties between Turkey, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan as exceptional, built on mutual trust, history, and solidarity, and stressed the importance of regional actions for smaller and medium powers in the current global environment marked by security threats, conflicts, and uncertainty.

Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov highlighted that Pakistan and Turkey were among the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan and have consistently supported it.

He stressed the need to strengthen trilateral relations further and noted the potential to increase the current trade volume between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He also described the Turkey-Azerbaijan program as a timely initiative to promote cooperation.

Earlier, President of the Institute for Regional Studies, Johar Saleem, in his welcome remarks, underlined the exemplary relations among the three countries and noted that the program would facilitate collaboration among scholars and researchers, supporting research and academic work to further strengthen trilateral ties.

The inauguration concluded with a panel discussion, during which the ambassadors answered questions from participants, highlighting strategies to enhance economic and diplomatic cooperation.
