ISLAMABAD: A significant development has taken place regarding the restoration of direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, the Bangladeshi national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines is prepared to begin direct flights to Karachi starting December.
Speaking informally at the Foreign Service Academy in Islamabad, the High Commissioner said that the airline is completing its final preparations to launch the service. In the initial phase, Biman Bangladesh will operate three flights per week to Karachi.
He further confirmed that Biman’s aircraft will travel to Pakistan via Indian airspace, adding that India has also been granted permission to use Bangladeshi airspace.
