Pakistan calls for more efforts to tackle Yemen crisis

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Ambassador Munir Akram has called for a viable roadmap to resolve the political and humanitarian crises in Yemen.

Ambassador Munir Akram was speaking at a briefing on the issue of Yemen at the UN Security Council.

The conflict in Yemen has emerged as a multidimensional crisis with global implications, said the ambassador, adding that there was a need to accelerate the efforts by the international community to address the varying facets of the crisis through effective diplomacy and a collective response.

Ambassador Akram urged all donor countries to enhance their contributions to the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen.
