Pakistan & China Vow to Expand Trade and Agricultural Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral trade relations with a special focus on agricultural trade and economic cooperation.

The understanding was reached during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad, held on the sidelines of the Pakistan–China Agricultural Investment Conference.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized expanding agricultural trade and enhancing economic collaboration.

Minister Khan stressed the need for a multi-dimensional strategy to boost Pakistan’s exports and highlighted the importance of accelerating trade in the agricultural sector through enhanced government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) cooperation.

The Pakistani delegation included the Secretary Commerce, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Detailed discussions were held on identifying concrete opportunities to expand bilateral trade in agricultural products.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong briefed the participants on China’s import regulatory framework and underscored the significance of agricultural trade between the two countries.

Both Pakistan and China agreed to maintain continuous engagement and dialogue to sustain the positive momentum in trade relations.
