DOHA: Pakistan and China have renewed their commitment to deepen their all-weather strategic partnership, emphasizing shared goals of regional stability, economic development, and close cooperation on global issues.
The announcement was made during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close collaboration on matters of mutual interest at regional and international forums, highlighting the strength and resilience of their bilateral ties.
President Zardari, reflecting on his recent visit to China, called the two countries “iron brothers” and all-weather strategic partners. He thanked China for its consistent support during Pakistan’s challenges and reaffirmed that friendship with China remains central to Pakistan’s foreign policy.
He also commended China’s role in advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has now entered its second phase of high-quality development.
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng assured that China would continue supporting Pakistan’s economic growth under CPEC, particularly in transport, infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training.
