ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has rejected the recent comments made by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar regarding the Pakistan Armed Forces, calling the remarks unfounded, irresponsible and intended to provoke.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi said Pakistan’s institutions, including its military, are fully committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He stated that the Indian leadership’s attempts to malign Pakistan’s state institutions are part of a broader propaganda campaign.
According to the spokesperson, Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated professionalism and resolve during their effective response to Indian aggression in May 2025, a fact that cannot be concealed through misinformation.
Andarabi accused India of making such statements to divert international attention from its own actions that destabilize the region, as well as from state-sponsored terrorism inside Pakistan.
He added that the rise of extremist Hindutva ideology in India has resulted in mob violence, extrajudicial actions, and the destruction of religious sites, and the Indian leadership should focus on addressing these issues.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, the spokesperson said the country firmly believes in peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and diplomacy, and remains united and determined to safeguard its national interests and sovereignty.
