18th Consignment of 100 tons humanitarian aid sent to Gaza
Send-off ceremony held in Islamabad, attended by officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDMA and the Palestinian Ambassador.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has sent its 18th consignment of humanitarian aid for Gaza, comprising 100 tons of essential supplies, bringing the total assistance sent so far to 1,815 tons.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the aid was dispatched on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and facilitated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The relief package includes dry food packs, ready-to-eat meals, and medicines.
A send-off ceremony was held in Islamabad, attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDMA, and the Palestinian Ambassador.
In addition, Alkhidmat Foundation contributed 65 tons of canned food, 20 tons of powdered milk, 5 tons of biscuits, and 10 tons of medicines to support the people of Gaza.
Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said that consecutive 100-ton consignments were being sent to Gaza. The relief plane will land in Jordan, from where the aid will be transported to Gaza.
The minister strongly condemned Israel’s brutalities against Palestinians and appreciated the contributions made by Alkhidmat Foundation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and assured that the aid campaign would continue.
The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Palestinian cause, supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions.
