Pakistan Grants Flight Permission to UK Airline Norse Atlantic

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has granted permission to the British airline Norse Atlantic to operate flights to the country, marking a significant development in international air connectivity.

Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif announced that the airline will launch direct flights from London, Manchester and Birmingham to Islamabad.

Asif said that an increase in international airlines operating in Pakistan would promote healthy competition in the aviation sector, leading to better services for passengers and balanced airfares.

He added that after a six-year hiatus, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume direct flights to London Heathrow from March 29, 2026.

The minister described this as a major achievement made possible through the continuous efforts of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and PIA, aimed at restoring the national carrier’s international reputation, which had suffered due to an irresponsible statement by a former aviation minister.

According to Asif, Norse Atlantic will initially operate four flights per week, with plans to increase frequency in the future to better serve overseas Pakistanis and strengthen their connection with the homeland.
