Pakistan Independence Day Marked with Dignity in Nassau County

NEW YORK: The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, joined the Pakistani American Community of USA Association in celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day at a ceremony held in Nassau County.

The gathering was attended by a large number of Pakistani Americans, senior county officials of Pakistani descent, students, journalists, and community leaders, reflecting the strong presence and contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in the United States.

The Chief Executive of Nassau County, the Honorable Bruce Blackman, delivered a special address in which he observed a moment of silence for the victims of recent floods in Pakistan.

He praised Pakistanis as a hardworking and enterprising community, highlighting their valuable role in the social and economic progress of Nassau County and the broader United States. He further emphasized that the relationship between Pakistan and the United States is exemplary and continues to strengthen through community contributions and mutual respect.

Other speakers at the event paid homage to the founding fathers of Pakistan, reminding the audience that the nation’s ongoing success rests on adhering to their vision and ideals in practical life.

Consul General Atozai also offered prayers for the departed souls of the flood victims. In his remarks, he stated, “August 14 marks a proud moment in our history, celebrating freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of our people and state.

Pakistan has a remarkable history of cooperation with the United States, particularly with the State of New York, and this partnership grows stronger every day.”

He extended heartfelt thanks to Chief Executive Bruce Blackman for his longstanding support and reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to fostering an even more progressive and collaborative relationship with Nassau County.
