ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have made a major breakthrough to mormalize their bilateral relations after the recent tension following attacks on terror bases across the border.
A foreign office spokesperson on Monday said that from January 26 the ambassadors of Pakistan and Iran will return to their respective station of posting in Tehran and Islamabad.
A statement issued by the spokesperson said that on the invitation of caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussain Amir will visit Pakistan on January 29.
It may be mentioned here that Iran on January 16 violated the air space of Pakistan claiming that it had targeted and demolished bases of a terror outfit in Panjgur area of Balochistan.
In retaliation, Pakistan expelled the ambassador of Iran and also called back its ambassador from Tehran.
Moreover, Pakistan also attacked bases of Baloch separatists in Siestan province of Iran in which, according to Iranian media seven people were killed.
Pakistan and Iran later decided to normalize their relations in the best interests of their nations and peace of the region.
