Pakistan, Japan vow to jointly tackle scourge of terrorism

TOKYO: Officials from Pakistan and Japan at a discussion here renewed their commitment to jointly work for the elimination of the scourge of terrorism.

The resolve was made at the fourth round of Pakistan-Japan Counter-Terrorism Consultations in Tokyo.

Additional Secretary Nabeel Munir led a delegation of officials from Pakistan while the Japanese side was headed by Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime of Japan, Minami Hiroyuki.

The participants of the discussion assessed evolving terrorist threats at national and regional level.

Both sides explored areas for greater bilateral cooperation, including capacity-building initiatives and solutions based on emerging technologies.
