ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to expand and diversify their cooperation in a wide range of fields, including trade, investment, transport, and people-to-people exchanges.
The understanding came during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s keen desire to strengthen ties with Kazakhstan through enhanced economic partnerships, improved connectivity by air, rail, and road, and broader collaboration in areas of shared interest.
He also underscored the importance of the upcoming visit of Kazakh President Kassym Jomart-Tokayev, noting that both sides are working to finalize several agreements and MoUs to be signed during the visit.
Deputy Prime Minister Nurtleu expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s warm hospitality and highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to taking relations with Pakistan to new heights. He said President Tokayev’s upcoming visit to Islamabad would mark an important step toward opening a new chapter in bilateral ties.
Officials from both countries noted that regular dialogue in recent months has laid the groundwork for deeper cooperation across economic, political, and cultural domains.
