Pakistan Keen to Enhance Parliamentary Ties with Bulgaria: Speaker

LAHORE: Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan met with Bulgaria’s Ambassador Irena Gina Deva Gancheva at the Punjab Assembly.

During the meeting, the speaker emphasized the desire to further enhance economic and parliamentary cooperation with Bulgaria. He noted that Pakistan advocates dialogue and peace in international affairs and highlighted the need to strengthen connections between the business communities of both countries.

Khan also stated that exchanges of parliamentary, cultural, and educational delegations would further reinforce bilateral relations. He praised the collaboration between the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and the Bulgarian News Agency as a positive development and noted that the Pakistan-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group is actively promoting mutual interests.

The Speaker highlighted Punjab’s investment potential in agriculture, textiles, and IT, emphasizing that educational and personnel exchanges would directly benefit young people. He also stressed the importance of tourism and cultural exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties.

Ambassador Gancheva welcomed efforts to enhance people-to-people connections and expressed Bulgaria’s strong interest in investing in Pakistan. She also underscored the value of parliamentary relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Amir Habib, Principal Secretary Imad Hussain Bhalli, and Director of Media Rao Majid Ali.
