Pakistan, Myanmar Sign MoU to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Myanmar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

The MoU was signed during a formal ceremony in Islamabad by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Myanmar’s Foreign Minister Than Swe. Prior to the ceremony, Dar received the visiting Myanmar foreign minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, Dar said that Pakistan and Myanmar share a long history of relations based on mutual respect.

He emphasized Pakistan’s desire to expand cooperation with Myanmar in all areas, highlighting opportunities in culture, tourism, and other sectors. Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s support for peace, development, and prosperity in Myanmar.

Myanmar’s Foreign Minister Than Swe thanked Dar for the hospitality and underscored the importance his country places on relations with Pakistan.

He said the two sides held productive discussions and reviewed prospects for cooperation in agriculture, trade, and other fields.

Than Swe added that Myanmar is keen to work closely with Pakistan in various sectors and to benefit from each other’s experiences.

He noted that efforts are also underway to enhance cooperation in tourism and stressed the commitment of both countries to strengthen ties despite existing challenges.
