Pakistan, Oman Agree to Enhance Cooperation in Health Sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Oman have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of health, following a meeting between Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Fahd Khalaf Al Kharousi.

During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral collaboration and matters of mutual interest, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Minister Mustafa Kamal said that Pakistan and Oman enjoy strong brotherly relations and can benefit from technical collaboration in pharmaceuticals.

He added that healthcare staff and medical physicians from both countries could share expertise and learn from each other’s experiences. He stressed that this initiative would help further strengthen joint efforts in the field of health.

The minister also briefed the Omani envoy about ongoing health sector reforms in Pakistan, including steps to produce vaccines locally, and expressed commitment to work together in multiple areas of healthcare.

On the other hand, Ambassador Al Kharousi praised Pakistan’s medical expertise, saying Oman is keen to engage skilled healthcare professionals, including nurses and medical specialists, from Pakistan.

He underlined the importance of medical education, professional training, and regular exchange of experts to deepen cooperation.
