ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Afghan Chargé d’Affaires to lodge a strong protest over recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan allegedly carried out from Afghan territory.

According to spokesperson Tahir Inderabi, a formal protest note was handed to the Afghan diplomat expressing serious concern over the use of Afghan soil for the Bajaur attack.

On February 16, security forces in Bajaur were targeted by terrorists linked to Fitna-ul-Khawarij, who crossed the border to carry out the assault, resulting in the martyrdom of 11 Pakistani soldiers.

The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan is deeply concerned that Afghan territory continues to be used for terrorism against Pakistan. He noted that the leadership of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is still based in Afghanistan and is operating openly from there.

Pakistan urged the Afghan government to take effective and concrete action against these terrorists, warning that repeated cross-border attacks harm bilateral relations and regional peace.

Despite multiple assurances from the Taliban, no meaningful steps have yet been observed to prevent such incidents.
