ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated on Saturday that Pakistan is fully committed to fostering a secure and prosperous regional environment in close coordination with its international allies.
He made this statement while addressing the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference held in Islamabad under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace.”
Strengthening Defence Ties Across Borders
During the past week, Pakistan has taken major strides to enhance defence cooperation.
Notably, the Saudi Arabian naval chief met General Sahir Shamshad Mirza in Rawalpindi, while COAS Munir held high-level military and political meetings in Beijing.

The ISPR confirmed that these engagements reflect Pakistan’s strategic vision for fostering peace and stability in South and Central Asia.
Shared Goals for Regional Prosperity
Field Marshal Munir emphasized that Pakistan is committed to partnering with regional allies for joint training, counter-terrorism efforts, and coordinated humanitarian responses.
Participants discussed regional security dynamics and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, sovereignty, and combating terrorism, cyber threats, and extremism.
The ISPR noted that this landmark multilateral gathering was a significant move towards stronger regional collaboration in military diplomacy and strategic dialogue.
Delegations praised Pakistan’s leadership, hospitality, and its proactive role in fostering inclusive defence cooperation.
The conference concluded with a collective pledge to continue promoting regional solidarity and shared security.
Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during a meeting with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, acknowledged Pakistan’s key role in advancing regional and global peace efforts.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive stance in regional mediation, especially with Iran.
