ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the United States as President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended felicitations to US President Donald Trump and the American people on the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Independence.
In a letter to President Trump, President Asif Ali Zardari said the United States continues to build upon its enduring legacy of strength, innovation, and commitment to the ideals of freedom, democracy, and opportunity.
He said Pakistan and the United States share a long-standing relationship founded on mutual respect and a common commitment to advancing peace, security, and prosperity.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the United States on the historic milestone, saying Pakistan joins the American people in celebrating the enduring values of freedom, resilience, and democracy.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with the United States on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests, and constructive, mutually beneficial engagement.
Pakistan and the United States have maintained decades-long diplomatic relations and continue to cooperate in diverse fields, including trade, investment, security, counterterrorism, climate resilience, education, and people-to-people exchanges. Both countries have expressed their desire to further expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
