ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reiterated its full support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while expressing its commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, a Pakistani delegation met with Syrian Foreign Minister in Damascus, where both sides discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary for the Middle East, Shehryar Akbar Khan. During the meeting, both countries emphasized the importance of expanding their long-standing and friendly relations and agreed to enhance mutual cooperation, including expediting the exchange of diplomatic delegations.
The Foreign Office stated that both sides underscored the importance of close coordination for promoting peace, development, and solidarity in the region. Pakistan reaffirmed its respect for Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.
Syrian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Pakistani delegation and showed interest in expanding cooperation across various sectors. Both sides agreed to strengthen engagements at multiple levels in the future.
