Islamabad: Pakistan has ranked 17th out of 101 countries for overall generosity, as indicated by the World Giving Report (WGR) 2025.

This report evaluates countries based on three key aspects of generosity: offering assistance to strangers, making financial donations, and volunteering time.

Pakistan’s performance in all three categories has been remarkable, particularly in the area of personal donations.

The World Giving Report 2025 was released in collaboration with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in the United Kingdom.

Shazia Maqsood Amjad, the Executive Director of the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), celebrated the nation’s position in the report, acknowledging it as a symbol of Pakistan’s deep-rooted compassion.

She highlighted that despite economic challenges, Pakistanis continue to show great generosity, not only through financial contributions but also through their time and voluntary services.

The findings reflect Pakistan’s long-standing tradition of community support, Zakat, and informal giving practices, which provide a critical safety net for millions of people in the country.

PCP’s research also supports these findings, demonstrating the widespread participation of Pakistanis in charitable activities across sectors such as education, health, disaster relief, and poverty alleviation.

The report also reveals a global trend of continued generosity even in times of economic difficulty.

Pakistan’s generosity in the face of such challenges is a clear indicator of the nation’s values and the significant role philanthropy plays in national development.

The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy remains committed to promoting a culture of giving through partnerships, research, and certifications.

The organization advocates for stronger collaboration among the government, civil society, and private sector to create a sustainable and accountable philanthropic ecosystem in Pakistan.
