KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is increasingly being recognized around the world as a promoter of peace, highlighting the role of the Pakistan Navy in national defence and regional stability.
Addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNS Rahbar) in Karachi, the Prime Minister said that in the current global environment, the importance of peace, cooperation, and diplomacy has grown significantly. He reiterated that Pakistan continues to support peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and negotiations.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir, Palestine, and Gaza, stating that Pakistan stands with them in their struggle and humanitarian challenges.
Praising the armed forces, he said that Pakistan faces both internal and external security challenges, and alleged that external elements are involved in promoting terrorism inside the country. He added that the armed forces are actively countering terrorism supported from abroad.
The Prime Minister lauded the Pakistan Navy as a strong defensive force that also plays an important role in promoting peace and stability in the region. He congratulated the cadets graduating from the academy, calling their success a source of national pride and a foundation for their future service to the country.
He also referred to recent diplomatic developments, stating that Pakistan played a mediatory role in regional engagements and that relations with Iran are expected to strengthen further following recent high-level visits.
The ceremony concluded with appreciation for the graduating cadets and recognition of the academy’s role in producing officers for the country’s defence services.
