ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, on Monday approved the appointment of 10 additional judges to the Lahore High Court.
The commission approved the appointments of Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Amjad Pervez, Asad Bajwa, Ghulam Sarwar Nahang, Shireen Imran, Usman Ghani Rashid Cheema, Munawar Dogal, Ameer Ajam Malik, Khalid Ibn Aziz and Ajmal Khan as additional judges.
During the meeting, the commission considered the confirmation of one Lahore High Court judge and reviewed nominations for 10 vacant additional judge positions. A total of 24 candidates were considered for the vacancies.
The commission also took up the appointment of judges to the Balochistan High Court, where the names of 20 candidates were under consideration.
