KARACHI: Pakistan’s stock market opened the week on a strong note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surging by more than 2,300 points in early trading.
The index climbed to 178,328 points, recovering the 178,000-point level after closing at 175,927 points in the previous session.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee posted a slight gain against the US dollar in the interbank market. The dollar fell by two paisas, trading at Rs277.93 compared with the previous closing rate of Rs277.95.
The positive momentum in the equity market reflected strong investor sentiment at the start of the trading day.
