MWASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has shared a survey claiming that a majority of Americans support ending the war with Iran through a negotiated agreement.
According to the survey, which Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, 60 percent of registered voters support a peace agreement with Iran, while 23 percent oppose it and 15 percent remain undecided.
Among likely voters, 62 percent backed a peace deal, 24 percent opposed it and 13 percent expressed no opinion.
Respondents were asked whether they supported or opposed a peace agreement to end the conflict with Iran.
The survey summary stated that the Trump administration had reached a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war. Under the reported framework, the Strait of Hormuz would reopen, sanctions on Iran and talks on its nuclear program would continue for two months, and Iran would agree not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.
Trump shared the survey on social media but did not provide additional comment.
