Pakistan reiterates two-state solution to Palestine issue

FO says Islamabad for Palestine state with Al-Quds its capital within pre-1967 borders.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again stated that it wants a two-state solution to the Palestine issue.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch at her weekly briefing on Thursday said the Pelestine state should be set up within the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital.

She said the situation in Pelestine was deteriorating and there was no safe place for the Pelestinians to seek shelter.

Pakistan, she added, strongly condemns unending Israeli atrocities on the people of Palestine.

She referred to a statement of the UN secretary general that there were serious threat to the lives of the people in Gaza and elsewhere.

“We also call upon all those backing Israel to stop it from further bloodshed in Palestine and restore peace in the area.”

In reply to a question about the use of Pakistani passport by the Afghan foreign minister, Ms Baloch said that she had seen the media report and would come up with a reply after going through facts.
