ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has condemned the reported profiling of mosques and mosque management committees in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling it a blatant infringement on religious freedoms.
In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi described the actions as a grave violation of the fundamental right to freedom of religion, reflecting an attempt to intimidate and marginalize the Muslim population in the region.
Andrabi criticized the collection of personal details, photographs and sectarian affiliations of religious leaders, labeling it as systematic harassment aimed at instilling fear among worshippers and obstructing the free practice of their faith.
He said these actions are part of a broader pattern of Islamophobia rooted in the Hindutva ideology promoted by the Indian government. Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to standing in solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and continuing to raise its voice against religious persecution.
