ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has announced that, on the directives of the Prime Minister, Pakistan will dispatch 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Palestine via two special cargo aircraft.
According to NDMA, the relief flights will depart within the next two days. The aid, which includes essential relief supplies, will be delivered to Palestine through Jordan and Egypt using special flights.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will oversee the dispatch and delivery process to ensure the smooth and timely transportation of the aid.
This is not the first time Pakistan has extended support to the Palestinian people. Earlier this year, Pakistan sent multiple consignments of food, medical supplies, and other essential items in response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. These shipments were coordinated by NDMA and delivered in collaboration with international and regional partners.
In 2023 as well, Pakistan had dispatched emergency aid including tents, blankets, medicines, and ready-to-eat food items following an escalation in hostilities in the region.
The government of Pakistan, along with charitable organizations and civil society, has consistently voiced solidarity with Palestine and taken practical steps to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict.
