Pakistan, UAE ink agreements on visa-free entry, AI cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed multiple agreements such as visa-free entry for diplomatic passport holders, the formation of a Joint Investment Task Force and collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agreements were reached during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Abu Dhabi and was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The commission discussed expanding bilateral cooperation across several sectors, including trade, energy, health, defense, education, and information technology. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-ministerial coordination to deepen ties.

In a significant move, the two nations signed agreements on visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic passports, the establishment of a Joint Investment Task Force, and enhanced cooperation in Artificial Intelligence.

The commission also reaffirmed their commitment to working together in areas such as food security, climate change, railways, public health, and labor force development.

It was mutually agreed that the 13th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission will be held in Pakistan, aiming to continue the momentum of deepening strategic and economic relations between the two countries.
