ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to strengthen their collaboration in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Director General of the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) Graeme Biggar in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, National Coordinator of NACTA Director General of the National Counter Crime Intelligence Agency (NCCIA) and others.
During the meeting, both sides held discussions aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of counter-terrorism, narcotics control, human trafficking prevention, forensic science, immigration, and police training.
It was mutually agreed that the scope of training courses for officials from various institutions, including the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and the NCCIA, would be further broadened to enhance capacity-building initiatives.
The two sides also decided to strengthen coordination and effective collaboration to combat online child harassment. Both countries agreed to promote mutual assistance in extradition matters, while also resolving to finalize five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) related to extradition and other areas of bilateral cooperation in the near future.
