Pakistan Unveils Visa-on-Arrival Facility for Citizens of 120 Countries

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has introduced an online visa system for citizens of 192 countries and a visa-on-arrival facility for citizens of 120 countries.

Federal Investment Board Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh announced this during his speech at the Sustainable Tourism Forum and Expo, organized in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce.

Under the new digital system, foreign nationals can now apply for a Pakistani visa online, eliminating the need to visit embassies. Minister Sheikh stated that the process is faster, easier, and promotes transparency.

He added that these reforms will boost international tourism, allowing foreign visitors to enjoy Pakistan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage more easily. The online visa program is part of Pakistan’s broader economic and tourism reform agenda, which includes investment opportunities and business facilitation.

“Tourism plays a key role in creating jobs, promoting trade, and increasing GDP,” the minister said.

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted that Pakistan’s cultural and geographical diversity makes it a unique destination for tourists. With enhanced security and modern digital infrastructure, Pakistan aims to attract international tourists, business travelers, and investors in the adventure, heritage, and eco-tourism sectors.
