Pakistan, US Armies Launch 13th Joint Counter-Terrorism Drill

PABBI: Pakistan and the United States have launched their 13th bilateral joint military exercise, Inspired Gambit–2026, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi.

The two-week-long exercise is being conducted in the counter-terrorism (CT) domain and includes professional contingents from the armies of both countries. Senior military officials from Pakistan and the United States attended the opening ceremony.

According to officials, the exercise aims to enhance mutual understanding and interoperability through the sharing of counter-terrorism experiences, while further refining tactics, techniques and procedures essential for effective CT operations.

Special emphasis is being laid on marksmanship skills in urban warfare scenarios, as well as on understanding each other’s operational doctrines and best practices.

Officials said such joint training exercises are vital for addressing evolving security challenges, improving professional military standards, and strengthening the ability of both forces to operate in complex counter-terrorism environments.
