Pakistan, US set to expand bilateral trade and investment

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have expressed their commitment to expand bilateral trade and investment, following a meeting between Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and a delegation from the US-Pakistan Business Council.

The delegation was led by Esperanza Jelalian, Vice President of the US-Pakistan Business Council, and included prominent American investors and representatives of leading US companies.

During the meeting, Minister Aurangzeb appreciated the continued interest and investment of American companies in Pakistan. He highlighted the vast potential for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in key sectors such as energy, minerals, agriculture, and digital services.

He also emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment and noted that the government is reviewing recommendations from stakeholders ahead of the upcoming budget to support profitable business growth for international investors.

Minister Aurangzeb also briefed the delegation on his recent visit to the United States, where he attended the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings.

The meeting concluded with a joint resolve to strengthen trade and investment ties between Pakistan and the United States.
