Pakistani Artists Shine At Red Sea Film Festival
JEDDAH: The fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival has officially commenced in the historic Al-Balad district of Jeddah, marking a major milestone in the international film calendar.
This year, Pakistani artists Atiqa Odho, Tawfeeq Haider, and Shehzad Nawaz are proudly representing their country. They will also participate in a special panel discussion, providing insights into Pakistan’s growing cinematic presence and creative contributions.
The festival will run from December 4 to 13, 2025, and opened with the world premiere of Rowan Athale’s film “Giant”. The film chronicles the life, struggles, and extraordinary achievements of British-Yemeni boxing legend Prince Naseem Hamed, capturing his journey from humble beginnings to global recognition.
The 2025 edition of the festival features 111 film premieres, including 38 international films from over 45 countries, making it one of the most diverse cinematic gatherings worldwide.
The main competition jury is chaired by Oscar-winning filmmaker Shane Baker, and includes esteemed filmmakers from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and other regions, reflecting the festival’s truly international character.
On December 9, Pakistani artists Atiqa Odho, Shehzad Nawaz, and Tawfeeq Haider will showcase their work to the world, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to storytelling, creative expression, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Their participation highlighted the nation’s ongoing dedication to fostering talent and sharing its unique narratives on a global stage.
