RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has carried out the death sentences of two Afghan nationals and one Pakistani citizen for drug smuggling offenses.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the two Afghan men were convicted for attempting to smuggle methamphetamine into the Kingdom, while the Pakistani national was found guilty of trafficking heroin.
The Ministry confirmed that the charges against all three individuals were substantiated, and after their appeals were rejected, the death sentences were upheld. The executions were carried out after the final ruling.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to protecting its citizens from the dangers of drugs. It also reaffirmed the government’s determination to enforce the strictest possible penalties for those involved in drug trafficking, emphasizing that such criminals will face the full force of the law.
