LONDON: In a strong counter to the earlier protest held by Indian nationals outside the Pakistan High Commission, members of the Pakistani community gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London to register their protest against India’s baseless allegations and aggressive posturing following the recent Pahalgam attack.
The protesters condemned what they called India’s habitual practice of blaming Pakistan without evidence and warned that any misadventure by New Delhi would provoke a response reminiscent of February 2019.
The demonstration was led by PML-N UK President Ahsan Dar, who said, “It has become a dangerous routine for India to scapegoat Pakistan after every unfortunate incident. The international community must hold India accountable for these reckless accusations.”
This protest followed an attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir, which resulted in 26 deaths. Without any investigation or proof, India quickly blamed Pakistan and unilaterally suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a move that drew strong criticism from Islamabad.
Pakistan not only condemned the Pahalgam incident unequivocally, but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also offered full cooperation for an impartial investigation, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to peace and transparency.
Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has since reiterated that any Indian aggression would be met with a firm and unforgettable response.
Protesters in London echoed this message, calling on India to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric and return to meaningful dialogue for the sake of regional peace.
