ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis spend over 3.5 billion dollars every year on performing Haj, Umra and visiting mausoleums, according to a research report by a private organization.
According to the reports, the Pakistanis spend around two billion dollars on Umra, one billion dollars on Haj and 0.5 billion dollars on visiting Ziarats. Moreover, over $2.5 billion were spent in the country by the faithful on Eidul Azha this year.
The report also said that about 35 per cent of the need of the leather sector is met from the hides of animals sacrificed on the eve of Eidul Azha.
