Pakistan’s business community launches ‘Support Türkiye’ campaign

FPCCI states that imports of raw materials and other goods from Türkiye should be increased immediately.

KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has decided to launch a ‘Support Türkiye’ campaign after Indians started boycotting its products for supporting Pakistan during the tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

The acting president of the FPCCI stated that imports of raw materials and other goods from Türkiye should be increased immediately. He emphasized that the business sector should support Türkiye beyond routine trade relations.

This initiative comes in response to Türkiye’s open support for Pakistan in its recent dispute with India. In retaliation, a campaign against Türkiye has been gaining momentum in India.

On Thursday, India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation revoked the security clearance of Turkish company Celebi Airport Services, citing national security concerns.

According to Indian media, traders in the city of Pune have initiated a boycott campaign against Turkish apples, demanding a halt to their sale in Indian markets.

The FPCCI’s move reflects strengthening ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, with both diplomatic and economic cooperation deepening in the face of regional tensions.
