ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s diplomats posted abroad as well as stationed in the Foreign Office were given a roadmap for the year 2005 to strengthen the country’s relations with other countries with a special focus on economic engagements and investment.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the ambassadors and diplomats on Tuesday.
Mr Dar asked the diplomats to continue actively playing their role in boosting Pakistan’s international profile and developing its international partnerships.
Pakistan’s envoys posted to key multilateral and bilateral missions attended the meeting. The deputy prime minister stressed the importance of Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relations with countries around the world. He also shared the vision of a dynamic foreign policy in its bilateral and multilateral dimensions.
The envoys on the occasion highlighted their assessment and views on the regional and global developments and inputs for foreign policy priorities for 2025 and beyond.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and Additional Foreign Secretaries and senior Directors General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed evolving international relations and Pakistan’s role in conflict resolutions. The participants said that Islamabad would continue raising its voice for the resolution of major issues such as the conflict in the Middle East, Israel’s war on Gaza and the occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.
