Pakistan’s Exports Suffer Major Blow, Drop Over 25% in February

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s export sector has suffered a significant setback as exports recorded a sharp decline of more than 25 percent in February 2026, according to official data.

According to latest reports from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports fell by 25.63 percent in February 2026 compared to January 2026.

The total export volume in February stood at over $2.27 billion, down from more than $3 billion recorded in January 2026. On a year-on-year basis, exports declined by 8.76 percent compared to January 2025.

During the first eight months (July–February) of the current fiscal year, exports decreased by 7.30 percent. The total export volume for this period reached $20.86 billion.

Meanwhile, imports during July–February amounted to $45.50 billion, pushing the trade deficit to over $25 billion. The report stated that the trade deficit during the eight-month period stood at 24.98 percent.
