ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s information technology (IT) sector has achieved a record milestone, with exports reaching $4.5 billion during the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a significant increase from the previous year.

According to official figures, IT exports rose by nearly 29 percent compared to $3.475 billion recorded in FY2024-25, reflecting sustained growth in the country’s digital economy.68

The increase was driven by strong performance in software development, business process outsourcing (BPO), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and the gaming industry.

Pakistani IT companies also expanded their presence in Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Singapore, contributing to higher export earnings.

The report noted that the expansion of small and medium-sized technology firms into new international markets played a key role in boosting the country’s IT exports.

Industry experts attributed the record growth to rising global demand for Pakistan’s digital services, increased market diversification, and the growing competitiveness of the country’s technology sector.

The latest figures underscore increasing international confidence in Pakistan’s IT industry and highlight the strengthening of the country’s digital economy and global trade partnerships.
