RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir issued a strong warning to India, cautioning New Delhi against any form of “self-deception or misplaced assumptions.”
He declared that if provoked again, Pakistan’s military response would be even swifter, sharper, and far more intense than before.
Addressing officers from all three branches of the Armed Forces, the Field Marshal underscored the urgent need to strengthen and refine multi-domain operational capabilities under a unified, integrated system.
He noted that the establishment of the newly created Defence Forces Headquarters represents a historic and transformative milestone, made necessary by the region’s rapidly shifting and increasingly complex security environment.
Munir emphasized that although each military service will continue to retain its distinct identity, structural autonomy, and independent operational readiness, the new headquarters will serve as a central platform to coordinate, align, and harmonize joint operations.
He stressed that enhanced unity at the top command level will significantly boost synergy among the Army, Navy, and Air Force without compromising their internal frameworks.
Touching on regional developments, he stated that a clear and unequivocal message has been communicated to the Taliban regime, which must choose between supporting khawarij elements or maintaining constructive and cooperative ties with Pakistan.
Reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to stability, he reiterated that Pakistan remains a peace-loving nation, dedicated to safeguarding regional harmony while firmly confronting all forms of emerging threats.
