Peshawar Zalmi Crush Lahore Qalandars by 76 Runs

KARACHI: In the 19th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, Peshawar Zalmi registered a commanding 76-run victory over defending champions Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium Karachi.

Chasing a target of 174 runs, Lahore Qalandars were bundled out for just 97 runs. Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique scored 21 runs each, while Vialalage contributed 20 runs. Sikandar Raza added 14 runs in a brief resistance, but the batting lineup collapsed under pressure.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Sufyan Muqeem and Bracewell took three wickets each, while Naheed Rana claimed two wickets. Aamir Jamal and Shafique-ul-Islam picked up one wicket each, dismantling Lahore’s batting order.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi posted 173 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Kusal Mendis, who had been named Player of the Match in the previous game, once again delivered a brilliant performance, scoring 74 runs off 48 balls with five fours and four sixes.

Captain Babar Azam anchored the innings with a responsible 43 off 40 balls, while Bracewell provided a late boost with 21 runs to push the total to a competitive score. For Lahore Qalandars, captain Shaheen Afridi took three wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman claimed two wickets.
