ISLAMABAD: The PML-N government on Friday night reduced the petrol price by Rs4.74 per litre to give relief to the masses.
In a statement released on PTV, the government announced that the petroleum prices had been decreased for the next fortnight till June 30. Besides petrol, a Rs3.86 per litre reduction was made in the rate of diesel.
It may be noted that two weeks ago, the government had made a reduction of over 15 rupees in petrol prices. Earlier, major media outlet spread a news claiming that petrol price had been reduced by Rs15.39 per litre.
The PTV quoted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as saying the people-friendly policies of the government were bearing fruit in the shape of a marked decrease in prices of essential commodities.
