Petrol price slashed by Rs9, diesel by Rs7 per litre

New price of petrol is Rs253 per litre and of diesel Rs253.5 per litre.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Saturday night announced to slash petrol and diesl prices for the fortnight ending on July 31.

Speaking at a televised address, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs9 per litre and that of diesel by Rs7 per litre. The new prices will come into effect at midnight.

The new price of petrol is Rs253 per litre and Rs253.5 per litre for diesel. The finance minister did not announce any changes in the price of kerosene oil or light-diesel oil.
