ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, development, and protection of minorities in Pakistan.
During a meeting with a delegation of Members of the National Assembly representing the minority community, the prime minister said all necessary measures would continue to be taken for the benefit of minority groups in the country.
Emphasizing the integral role that minorities play in Pakistan’s social and economic fabric, he said the Constitution guarantees complete religious freedom, equal rights, and protection for all citizens, regardless of their faith or background.
The delegation, which included prominent leaders from the minority community, expressed their gratitude for the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the conditions of minorities. They also brought to light some of the challenges still faced by these communities.
In response, Mr Sharif assured full cooperation from the government to resolve these challenges and to further strengthen the inclusion of minority groups in the national mainstream. His assurance of continued support aims to ensure that minorities not only have their rights protected but also have ample opportunities to contribute to the nation’s development.
The delegation was led by Minister of State for Religious Affairs Kheal Das Kohistani and included Dr. Darshan, Nelson Azeem, Isphanyar Bhandara, Ms. Neelam, Sanjay Perwani, Ramesh Kumar, Naveed Aamir, and Ramesh Lal.
