ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, where both sides discussed regional developments and bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s full and unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia. He praised the Kingdom’s measured and restrained approach amid the ongoing regional crisis and assured that Pakistan will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in challenging times.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Asim Malik and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
Welcoming the Saudi Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards for the custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and extended best wishes to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Referring to his recent engagements with the Saudi leadership, including his March 12 meeting in Jeddah, he highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and encouraging dialogue between the United States and Iran.
Emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s pivotal leadership role in the Muslim world, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of unity among Islamic countries during this critical period.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan thanked the Prime Minister and shared Saudi Arabia’s perspective on the evolving regional situation. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and continue joint efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
